Learn Islamic Duas & 6 Kalmay
The word "Kalma" comes from Arabic and means "word." In Islamic context, it often refers to the Shahada—the fundamental declaration of faith. The kalma ??? ?????? ?????? ??? ????????? ????????? ??? translates to: “There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad is His Messenger.” This powerful statement expresses the core belief of Islam: the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Islam recognizes six Kalmas: the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth. These Kalmas are essential affirmations of faith that every Muslim is encouraged to learn and recite. Saying them not only reflects one’s belief but also affirms one’s acceptance of Islam and its core principles. The Shahada, in particular, holds deep spiritual meaning and unites Muslims globally under a shared expression of devotion.
The Six Kalmas—also known as the Six Phrases—are foundational to Islamic teachings. They are frequently recited during significant moments, as well as in daily prayers, to reinforce spiritual awareness and remembrance of Allah. Rooted in authentic Hadith and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), these Kalmas are beloved and widely practiced by Muslims around the world. It is a parent’s sacred responsibility to ensure their children learn and understand these Kalmas from an early age. Muhammadan Quran School emphasizes this important practice as part of its curriculum.
